Star fist
Sternenfaust is both the title of a booklet series published between 2005 and 2012 by Bastei-Verlag and a hardcover series based on it that is published by Zaubermond-Verlag and has the subtitle Die Chroniken des Star Corps .
The series told the adventures of the crew of the light cruiser Sternenfaust and the special mission cruiser Sternenfaust II. Since volume 100, the series has played on the Star Cruiser Sternenfaust III. The central character of the series was the ship's commander, Captain Dana Frost.
Sternenfaust the is genre science fiction associate and has 199 dime novel and 12 hardcover volumes (as of January 2019).
Authors
The main authors of the series were Alfred Bekker (left the team of authors from volume 100), M'Raven ( Mara Laue , left the team of authors with volume 114), Luc Bahl (Achim Schnurrer, left the team with volume 75), Michelle Stern , Sascha Vennemann (editor of the series from approx. Volume 50) and Susanne Picard (exposé author and editor of the series approx. Volumes 70–125), from volume 100 also Simon Borner (Christian Humberg) and Volker Ferkau . From volume 125, the authors Jana Paradigi , Guido Seifert and Stan Hamilton (unknown pseudonym) also joined the series.
In addition, Christian Montillon , Christian Schwarz , James Halske (unknown pseudonym) and Volker Krämer each contributed a few volumes to the series. San Fuller wrote as a guest on volume 75, with volume 131 Harald Jacobsen delivered a guest novel.
Thomas Höhl has taken over the editorial work on Sternenfaust since volume 126 . He wrote the synopsis of the novels up to the last volume (199) and was also active as an author for the series.
Alfred Bekker also wrote 11 volumes of the hardcover series, the final volume of the twelve-part hardcover cycle was written by Sascha Vennemann (list of all hardcovers see below).
Cover pictures
With two exceptions (Volume 178 and Volume 179), all cover images for the magazine novel series came from Arndt Drechsler .
Frequency of publication
The booklet novels appeared biweekly since February 15, 2005. The first hardcover book appeared in June 2006. The originally planned half-yearly publication cycle was shortened to quarterly after the success of the first book. In February 2009, the hardcover series was discontinued for the time being due to insufficient sales with the twelfth volume.
From November 2008 the first volumes of the magazine series appeared in books, each with three original novels including the magazine cover pictures in color as a reprint by Mohlberg-Verlag. Four book editions will appear in 2008; from 2009 two book editions each quarter. In the meantime the reprints with the eighth volume have also been discontinued.
action
The individual booklets initially presented in a self-contained form the predominantly military or diplomatic orders of the light cruiser STERNENFAUST under the command of Commander Dana Frost in the 2250s. After the destruction of the ship, Frost was promoted to captain and took over with most of her crew the special mission cruiser Sternenfaust II. In contrast, the hardcover deals with the adventures of the Sternenfaust before Dana Frost took over command.
The Star Fist is a unit of the Star Corps of Space Defense, the Defense Forces of the Solar Worlds. This is the name given to the structure of the planets and colonies inhabited by humans. In addition to humans, there are various extraterrestrial races such as the outwardly human-like J'ebeem or the sauroid Starr.
On the one hand, the ongoing political-military background, which is initially characterized by an ongoing conflict between the solar worlds and the bird-like Kridan, provides a larger framework for the individual adventures. This is later replaced by the threatening invasion of the parasitic drontone by a newly created wormhole. On the other hand, many events contain references to an unknown, very powerful race of extraterrestrials that was widespread in the Milky Way a long time ago and of which remains are repeatedly found.
With volume 100, there is a jump of 15 years for the first time in the action period of the series, whereby the much larger star fist III, newly constructed using extraterrestrial technology, replaces the predecessor spaceship , which was flooded with millions of data in volume 99. However, since all data has been overwritten, the ship has become unusable. Evaluating the data will take hundreds of years. After a few years, it was possible to decipher so much data that it was possible to build converter modules and thus enable space travel through hyperdimensional space. Dana Frost now has the rank of Commodore and has her direct superior in the form of an admiral on board.
From volume 100, the series of booklets follows the cyclical narrative style.
In addition to Frost, the main characters come mainly from the officer corps of the Sternenfaust (bridge crew, chief engineer, on-board doctor). In addition, there are a few other permanent crew members (lander pilots, marines) as well as irregular figures (superiors, scientists, representatives of extraterrestrial races).
