Christian Humberg (* 1976 in Gerolstein ) is a German writer , translator , editor and journalist .

Life

Christian Humberg grew up in the Eifel and studied book and literature in Mainz . Since the late 1990s he has worked as a writer, translator and editor of novels and non-fiction books. He publishes titles in various genres. Together with Bernd Perplies he created and writes several series of novels, primarily in the children's book segment ("Drachengasse 13", "The uncanny cases of Lucius Adler", "The guardians of Aquaterra") and wrote a volume on Wolfgang Hohlbein's fantasy series with "The creeping horror" " The Witcher of Salem ". In 2016 he and Perplies devised and wrote the internationally published novel trilogy "Star Trek Prometheus" and joined the ranks of Hollywood-licensed Trek writers - as the first non-English-speaking authors ever.

As a scriptwriter and author, Humberg is responsible for Sometimes international comics for youth-oriented franchise brands such as Dragons , Wickie and the strong men and Playmobil . His various works have been translated into numerous languages, set to music several times and adapted for the stage.

Humberg writes under the pseudonym Simon Borner for some fantastic novel series by the publishers Bastei Lübbe and Zaubermond . Since 2012 he has also been writing for Perry Rhodan , the world's most successful SF novel series.

The trained journalist was a long-time editor of the print magazines Space View and "Geek!" as well as employees of other print and online publications in Germany and abroad. His columns appear a. in S.Fischer Verlag and the Berliner Zeitung. For their non-fiction book "Geek Pray Love", Humberg and co-author Andrea Bottlinger were honored in 2015 with the German Fantasy Prize awarded at the Frankfurt Book Fair .
