Steve Niehaus (* 25. September 1954 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is a former American American football poker players. He played in the position of defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL).

NFL

Seattle Seahawks

Niehaus was selected in the 1976 NFL Draft as the second player in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks , becoming the first drafted player of the Seahawks. In his first season he started in all 14 games of the Seahawks and was able to book 9.5 sacks and 90 tackles, which is why he was named NFC Rookie of the Year. Due to a shoulder injury, Niehaus missed six games in his second season.

Minnesota Vikings

1979 brought the Minnesota Vikings Niehaus from the Seattle Seahawks. There he played in three games. After a failed shoulder operation, he had to end his career after four seasons.
