life and career

Sidwell began his career in the youth team at Arsenal FC in London . He was under contract with the Gunners from 1999 to 2003 and won the FA Youth Cup twice (2000 and 2001). During his time at Arsenal, he was also loaned out to three different clubs, namely Brentford FC (2001-2002), KSK Beveren (2002) and Brighton & Hove Albion (2002-2003). In January 2003, the midfielder moved to Reading FC and in 2006 made it to the top English division . After a year in the Premier League with Reading FC and very good performances, he moved to Chelsea in 2007 on a free transfer .

After only a year Sidwell left the club from London. He instead joined Aston Villa in Birmingham before the start of the 2008-09 season . In the 2010/11 winter transfer window, he signed for an undisclosed sum with London club Fulham FC . On June 9, 2014, Stoke City announced that Sidwell had signed a two-year contract that will take effect July 1. Since the contract with the Cottagers has expired, the Potters do not have to pay a transfer fee.
