Steven De Petter (born November 22, 1985 in Aalst , Belgium ) is a former Belgian football player . He played as a defender .

Career

De Petter started his career at SK Terjoden-Welle in Aalst . At the age of 13 he moved to the second division club FC Denderleeuw , where he went through all youth teams and was accepted into the first team at the age of 17. The club merged with Eendracht Hekelgem in 2001 to form FC Denderleeuw EH and in 2004 rose to the third division. In 2005, the club merged with Verbroedering Denderhoutem to form FC Verbroedering Dender Eendracht Hekelgem and rose to the second division in 2006 and the first division in the following season for the first time in the club's history. In July 2009 De Petter moved to KVC Westerlo and three years later he joined KV Mechelen . Since 2016 he has been under contract with VV St. Truiden .

De Petter played his last game on March 10, 2019. Since then he has not been able to play due to an injury. At the end of March 2020, he decided to end his career.
