Steven Charles Gould (* 7. February 1955 in Fort Huachuca , Arizona ) is an American science fiction - author and teacher.

Life

Gould has published 10 novels so far, his most famous book Jumper was published in 1992 and was also made into a film under this title in 2008 . He is married to science fiction writer Laura J. Mixon and lives in Albuquerque , New Mexico . In his spare time he practices and teaches the martial art of aikido .

In May 2013 he was elected president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Association.

In August 2013, he reached an agreement with James Cameron for four sequels based on the Avatar series.
