Steven Levitan
Steven E. Levitan (born April 6, 1962 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American screenwriter , television director and film producer .
Life
Levitan was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up Jewish there. He attended Glenbrook South High School and studied from 1980 to 1984 at the University of Wisconsin – Madison . He completed his studies with a bachelor's degree in journalism .
In 1989 Levitan moved to Los Angeles . In the 1990s he worked as a screenwriter for the series The Critic , Überflieger and Frasier . In 1997, he started his own television series Just Shoot Me - editorial work was through . The series was a success and ran until 2003.
Levitan and Christopher Lloyd produced the mockumentary series Modern Family for ABC . The series was a huge hit and received dozens of awards and accolades. After almost 11 years and 11 seasons, it ended on April 8, 2020.
Levitan has been married since 1992 and has three children. He lives in Los Angeles .
