Steven Schoop (born April 11, 1987 ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with SC Weinfelden in the Regio League since 2010 . Before that he played in the National League B at HC Thurgau .

Career

Steven Schoop began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the GCK Lions , for whose professional team he made his debut in the National League B in the 2004/05 season , where he remained unpunished in seven games. From 2006 the defender played regularly for the GCK Lions in the NLB. In the 2006/07 season he was also in three games for the Swiss U20 national ice hockey team in the National League B on the ice. With the ZSC Lions , the left-handed shooter won the newly founded Champions Hockey League in the 2008/09 season , after he and his team won the final against HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Continental Hockey League . The 2009/10 season started Schoop at HC Thurgau in the National League B before the defender was signed by SC Weinfelden from the Regio League .

International

For Switzerland , Schoop took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 2005 , where he and his team finished ninth and relegated to the division.
