The Duchy of Lauenburg Foundation is a foundation under civil law based in the city of Mölln in the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park .

The foundation was established in 1977 by the then CDU district chairman and later Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein Uwe Barschel and the entrepreneur Karl-Josef Ballhaus ( Schwarzkopf ). Its mission and purpose of the foundation is to promote culture and nature in the Duchy of Lauenburg . Since 1986, the foundation has maintained the Lauenburg Academy for Science and Culture , which is also located in the Stadthauptmannhof in Mölln. The foundation is also responsible for the district judge's house in Schwarzenbek as a cultural center.
