Stig Rune Kveen (born June 28, 1980 ) is a former Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Kveen, who started for the IL Varden and the Strindheim IL , ran his first race in the Continental Cup in Orsa in December 2000 and came in 16th in the sprint. His first of a total of 14 World Cup races he completed in March 2001 in Oslo , which he finished in 59th place in the sprint. In the 2004/05 season he came in the Scandinavian Cup five times under the top ten and thus achieved second place in the overall standings. He achieved second place over 15 km classic in Veldre . In March 2005 he got his first and only World Cup points in Oslo and Gothenburg with 16th place in the sprint. In the following season he reached the Scandinavian Cup with four top ten placements, including third place over 15 km classic in Skellefteå , fourth place in the overall standings. In 2006 and 2007 he was Norwegian champion with the relay of Strindheim IL together with Krister Trondsen and Petter Northug respectively . In the 2006/07 season he achieved four results in the top ten, sixth place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. He ran his last World Cup race in March 2007 in Oslo, which he finished classically in 39th place over 50 km.
