Stijn Franconia

Augustinus Adriaan "Stijn" Franken (born August 16, 1967 in Breda ) is a Dutch law scholar and professor at the University of Utrecht .

Live and act

Franken studied law at Tilburg University from 1985 to 1989 . He then worked as a research associate of Marc Groenhuijsen working at the Tilburg Institute and was its support in 1993 from the University of Tilburg with the criminal font "Voeging ad informandum in strafzaken" Dr. iur. PhD. He has been practicing as a lawyer since 1994, initially in The Hague and from 1997 in Amsterdam. In 2010 he founded the law firm Franken Zuur van Kampen Croes in Amsterdam, specializing in criminal defense. Since 2003, he has also been a full professor for criminal law practice at the University of Utrecht . In 2006, he switched to the full professorship for criminal law and criminal procedure law within the university, which he has held since then. As in his practical work, his research focuses primarily on the rights and obligations of those involved in criminal proceedings, the right of appeal, human rights violations, and financial and commercial criminal law.
