The Voices Festival is a music festival that has been held every summer since 1994 - usually in July - in Lörrach and the surrounding places in the border triangle of Germany , France and Switzerland . The music festival, which was directed by Helmut Bürgel from its inception until 2012 and has now been directed by Markus Muffler since 2013, has developed into one of the largest and most successful music festivals in southern Germany and Switzerland with up to 30,000 visitors annually. In spring 2009 it was nominated as Festival of the Year for the Live Entertainment Award (LEA) and reached 2nd place out of 700 events attended by the jury. The organizer is Burghof Lörrach GmbH in cooperation with various long-term partners from Germany and Switzerland, u. a. with the canton of Basel-Landschaft (CH) and the municipality of Riehen (CH).

The festival offers concerts every evening at various venues, including in the Burghof Lörrach, in Augst ( Roman theater ), Riehen and in the Rosenfelspark in Lörrach. The festival's biggest concerts take place on the centrally located Old Market Square in Lörrach.

Outstanding representatives and ensembles of vocal and choral music will be presented, regardless of time and style, including stars of rock and pop music, classical and jazz singing, ensembles from the region or from all over the world.

The highlights of the festival are performances by national and international musicians from a wide variety of genres (blues, folk, jazz, classical, pop, rock). For example, Bob Dylan , Bob Geldof , Bryan Ferry , Calexico , Elton John , Jamie Cullum , Lenny Kravitz , Leonard Cohen , Lionel Richie , Marianne Faithfull , Mark Knopfler , Neil Young , Patricia Kaas , Patti Smith , Paul Simon , P! Nk and The New Power Generation , as well as newcomers, soloists and choirs.
