The Stokkviknakkentunnelen ( Norwegian Stokkviknakkentunnelen ) are two road tunnels in the course of the Fylkesvei 830 between Finneid and Sulitjelma in the Norwegian Fylke Nordland .

First Stokkviknakken tunnel

The first Stokkviknakken tunnel was built in 1892 with the construction of the old Sulitjelmabane from Sjønstå to Fossen . The route circled the mountain Stokkviknakken on the bank of Sjønståelva , whereby the route was simplified by the approximately 80-meter-long tunnel.

Second Stokkviknakken tunnel

After the extension of the line to Finneid and the numerous line improvements made in 1956 with the Grønnlifjell tunnel , the Hårskolten tunnel and the Sjønståfjell tunnel, work began on a new tunnel through Stokkviknakken in May 1961. The tunnel could be used from November 30, 1962.

This 568-meter-long tunnel replaced its shorter predecessor and enabled the line to be improved. After the railway line was abandoned in 1972, the tunnel was converted for road traffic. This work was completed in 1975.
