The Stony Tarn is a lake in the Lake District , Cumbria , England .
The Stony Tarn is at the north end of Eskdale and west of Hardknott Pass and east of Eel Tarn .
The lake has an unnamed tributary in the north and the Blea Beck forms its outflow at its south-west corner.
Its name is based on the numerous stones that lie on its bottom.
