The Stopes Point is a rocky headland in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Allan Hills it forms the northern branch of the Tilman Ridge .
Participants in an expedition to the Allan Hills as part of the New Zealand Antarctic Research Program explored and named it in 1964. It is named after the New Zealand paleobotanist Maria Stopes, an expert in the field of carboniferous flora , whose fossils can be found in this area.
