Stora Lulevatten ("Big Lule Lake") is a lake in the province of Norrbotten County in northern Sweden , through which the river Stora Luleälven flows. It has a maximum width of 6 and a length of about 40 kilometers.
The body of water is the largest of a series of 15 reservoirs along the river that were built to generate electricity .
Along the north shore of the lake, a cul-de-sac leads up to the area of the Stora Sjöfallets National Park . There are some smaller settlements on the south bank, but they are hardly accessible in terms of traffic and can basically only be reached by boat .
