The Storavan is a lake in Norrbotten County in northern Sweden , the flow of which is regulated. The Skellefte älv flows through it. It is the smallest of the three large lakes in the Skellefte älv river system. The other two are the lakes Uddjaure and Hornavan to the west . The water surface is 172 km² with a normal water level of 419 m. The deepest point in the lake is 21 m.

Before the last ice age , the Storavan had its drainage at its southeastern end near Avaviken and was drained via the Byskeälven to the Gulf of Bothnia . Today the water of the Storavan flows from the southern bank over the Bergnäsälven to the neighboring lake Naustajaure . The rapids on Bergnäsälven are a popular place for recreational anglers .
