Stork Ridge (English for Storchgrat ) is a 1.5 km long mountain ridge on the Adelaide Island in the archipelago of the Adelaide and Biscoe Islands off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 5.5 km northwest of Rothera Point in the southeast of the island. The highest peak is the Middle Stork with 511 m .
He was named by members of a Royal Navy hydrographic unit operating in the area on board HMS Endurance in 1976 . It is named after a flagpole erected by them here , which, in connection with a hoisted pennant, reminds of a stork that landed on the ridge .
