Stormfront

Stormfront is an English-language site one that preferably racist and neo-Nazi ideologies public gives. It was founded in 1995 by the former Ku Klux Klan member Don Black , making it one of the first right-wing extremist sites on the Internet.

Since 2002 Stormfront has not been included in the German or French Google index, as Stormfront contains Holocaust denial (Section 130 StGB ) and this is not compatible with German and French law.

content

The site consists of a common forum system and is divided into various sub-areas such as "Ideology and Philosophy", "Self-Defense" and "Legal Problems". Stromfront is one of the largest forums on the Internet with over 160,000 registered users (as of May 2009) and over six million contributions. The wiki StormWiki and a blog are integrated within the forum .

ideology

Stormfront contains racist contributions. A superiority of a white over a black race is often propagated. The Holocaust is also disputed and National Socialism is openly revered. German authorities rate the site as right-wing extremist.

legality

The site violates German and Austrian law several times. The Holocaust is often denied and symbols such as the swastika or the stylized Celtic cross can be found on the site . In Germany this violates §86 (a) of the StGB and in Austria against the Prohibition Act . Stormfront is hosted in the United States and is protected by the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution. In the United States, these acts are not a criminal offense.
