The ruins of Strättligen are the ruins of a hilltop castle from the 13th century in the area of the former municipality of Strättligen above the district of Gwatt in the municipality of Thun in the canton of Bern . Common names are also Strättligburg or Strättligturm .
history
The ruin was the ancestral castle of the Barons von Strättligen . The barons of Strättligen were also owners of Wimmis Castle . In 1332 the castle was razed by the Bernese . In 1699, the state of Bern built the powder tower that is still preserved today on the castle ruins .
