Omsk local transport

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Omsk transport is from the urban traffic management ( Russian департамент транспорта г. Омска / department of transportation g. Omská managed). This includes the omnibus , trolleybus , tram and future subway lines of the city of Omsk .

tram

The first tram opened on November 8, 1936 in the Russian broad gauge of 1524 mm. It connected the administrative center with the commercial center. Over the years, the routes reached further north of the city. When the city expanded west in the early 1970s , the tram followed this development. It was given its own railway body on a spacious road. In the mid-1990s, two important tram routes were closed - in the center and in the north of the city. The remaining stretches are away from the center and are only poorly maintained. For example, on the eight tramway network, which is now only 46.2 kilometers long, it is seldom possible to drive the vehicles at a maximum speed of 40 km / h. A ten-minute cycle is planned, which often cannot be kept due to the condition of the administration's 100 trams.

Trolleybuses

Trolleybuses in Omsk

Trolleybuses have been in operation since November 5, 1955. After no investment in the vehicle fleet had been made for a long time, new, modern vehicles were purchased again from 2004 onwards. At the moment, however, the old Soviet trolleybuses of the type SiU-9 still dominate . A total of 200 cars are available and the lines are mostly served every ten minutes.

Subway

Under the leadership of the municipal "Directorate of the Omsk metro to be built" (Russian Дирекция строящегося метрополитена г. Омска ), according to plans from 2003, the 8.2 kilometer long section of the Omsk metro between the stations " Bus Station ”(Russian Автовокзал - Avtovoksal ) and“ Red Way ”(Russian Красный путь - Krasnyi put ) go into operation. On October 23, 2003, a 740 m long, single-track section between the " Tupolev " (Russian Туполевская - Tupolevskaja ) and the “workers' station” (Russian Рабочая - Rabochaya ) was completed. Due to the financial situation of the transport companies, the beginning of a single-track shuttle service between the stations “Hinterm Fluss” (Russian Заречная - Saretschnaja ) and “Roter Weg” would be expected in 2006 at the earliest , but a full opening between the “ Busbahnhof ” and “Roter Weg” is more realistic “Not before 2008 .

omnibus

Omnibuses are currently the basis of Omsk city transport.

In March 2005 the department had 850 buses and 125 minibuses. Of these, 180 buses are from Czech production and 290 buses are from Mercedes, while the local buses come from the Likinski Avtobusny Sawod (in Likino-Duljowo ). The network is supplemented by numerous private minibuses, marshrutki . There are increasing traffic jams at the stops - the city is considering restricting private providers.
