The Strada Statale 38dir / A is a side branch (Italian diramazione ) of the SS38 in northern Italy .

When the SS38 was established in 1928, two side branches were also established. The first branch branches off at a roundabout in Tirano and runs to the Swiss border at Campocologno . Main road 29 starts there and leads to Samedan . Since the SS38 runs very close to the border in this area, the side branch is only 1700 meters long.
