The criminal defense attorney (StV) is a legal journal in the field of material and procedural criminal law and is an important publication in this area. The criminal defense attorney has been published since 1981 and was the first magazine to focus on the perspective of criminal defense. The advisory board includes criminal lawyers such as Friedrich Dencker, Bernd Schünemann , Werner Beulke and Thomas Weigend . The editor is Björn Gercke, Matthias Jahn and Helmut Pollähne.
The defense attorney is published by Luchterhand and is produced using the offset printing process. The monthly edition has an average of 60 pages and, in addition to court decisions, contains essays, decision comments and reviews of legal literature. The audience consists mainly of lawyers, judges and prosecutors, but also of criminal law teachers and students of law .
