The Eskişehir tram , known locally as EsTram , is the tram system of the Anatolian city of Eskişehir .
The narrow-gauge network was opened in 2004 and is one of the eleven urban or tram networks in Turkey . It has a track width of 1000 mm and is currently 14.5 km long. There are currently seven lines . Modern low-floor trains of the type Flexity Outlook Cityrunner from Bombardier Transportation are used. EsTram has a total of 23 railcars , which are technically comparable to the vehicles of this type used in Linz .
In 2009 new trains were ordered for a new line.
On September 5, 2016, it was announced that the Czech manufacturer Škoda Transportation will deliver 14 ForCity Classic trams within 19 months. The vehicles are equipped with batteries for operation without overhead lines.

history
The contract to build the Eskişehir tram network was signed on July 11, 2002. On August 15, 2002, construction work began in the city center. On December 10, 2003, the first Bombardier Flexity Outlook Cityrunner train was delivered to Eskişehir. On June 27, 2004, after only 20 months of preparation, the construction work was completed and passenger service began on December 24, 2004.
vehicles
In 2018, the vehicle fleet will be supplemented by 14 ForCity Classic trains from the Czech manufacturer Škoda Transportation . Škoda won the tender against its Turkish competitor Bozankaya . The 30 m long sets are equipped with traction batteries, which enable the vehicles to travel a 1 km long route without overhead lines. The first vehicles were delivered in March 2018.
