Stratopause

Average temperature and molar mass of the air as a function of altitude.

The stratopause is the atmospheric boundary layer between the stratosphere and the mesosphere . The position of the stratopause is characterized by the first maximum of the atmospheric temperature profile; it is about 50 km above sea level.
