history

Map of Oberreit with Streitfeld around 1821/22

Streitfeld was divided into two separate settlements. The older, eastern one belonged to the municipality of Kleindehsa , the younger, larger and western one to the municipality of Lauba , which is more correctly called Neudorf-Lauba.

The Kleindehsaer settlement part of Streitfeld was laid out as a manor settlement in the first half of the 17th century. It has been expanded to include a weekend settlement since 1966 and extends as a row of houses northeast on the edge of a trickle. In 1651, after a manorial division, both Kleindehsa and Sträckfeld came to Otto Heinrich von Nostitz. Later the names Strauchfeld, Bornfeld and Steinfeld are mentioned in documents. In 1825 5 out of 10 farms "expanded on the Dominio" were owned by the Kleindehsa rulers.

The Laubaer settlement area extends in several groups of houses from the edge of the forest down over the slope of the Kötzschauer mountain to the southwest. Here lying Pleistocene gravel and sand in the forest on the road to Halbau and towards Obercunewalde were extracted in a pit. The settlement itself is considerably younger. After all, a part of the Bornfeld Lauba was assigned as early as 1651, but it was not until 1818 that the Niederlauba landowner established the Neudorf-Lauba settlement there. 42 settlers received 4 to 6 bushels of land each, which they should "gradually convert into fields and make arable". In 1823 the old community of Lauba filed a complaint with the governor of Löbau. They did not want to recognize the new settlers and the tavern that was opened in 1820. The incorporation of the part of the settlement did not take place until 1854. A post mill (as the southernmost, somewhat forward property) with 3 gears worked until 1920 and was torn down in 1926. The house under high linden trees has been preserved, which is a beautiful half-timbered house with a half-timbered upper floor and a half- hipped roof .

Streitfeld has been part of Lawalde since 1994 .
