Kleindehsa ( Upper Sorbian Dažink ) is a district of the Saxon community Lawalde in the district of Görlitz ( Upper Lusatia ). It lies in the valley of the Litte between the Hochstein (542 m) and the Kötzschauer Berg (466 m). To the east lies Großdehsa on the S115 . The settlement is laid out in the form of a forest hoof village.

Kleindehsa was mentioned in a document in the 13th century under the name form Dycin (June 1242), Theesyn (1306) or Thesin (1348). In the period that followed, the place name changed, which was expressed in 1491 in small Desen and in 1657 in Klein Deßa .

In the Löbau district , the places Kleindehsa, Kötzschau and Streitfeld formed the municipality of Kleindehsa with around 450 inhabitants (1990). March 1, 1994, the municipalities Kleindehsa and were Lauba for Lawalde incorporated.

Under the Kleindehsaer castle remains are a Wasserburg to still clearly visible. The building in its current form was erected in 1747 and has since been changed through various alterations. After the castle was used as a district training facility for the SED after 1945 , it housed a primary school since 1953 - the central school for the towns of Kleindehsa, Großdehsa, Eiserode, Nechen and Halbau, which became a polytechnic secondary school in 1963 and is now a primary school with a school after-school care center .

traffic

The Kleindehsa stop was on the Großpostwitz – Löbau railway line , which has since been closed . Today there is a cycle path on the route.
