Stuart Adamson (born April 11, 1958 in Manchester , † December 16, 2001 in Honolulu , United States ) was a British musician .

Career

Adamson was the founder of the bands Skids (synth, voc, g), Big Country (lead-voc, g) and The Raphaels. He was found dead in his hotel room at the Best Western Plaza Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 16, 2001 . The cause of death was assumed to be suicide by hanging; an accident was excluded. The autopsy of his body revealed that Adamson had a blood alcohol concentration of 2.79 per mille on the day of his death .
