The Studentenwerk Magdeburg is a German student union and an institution under public law (A.ö.R.). As one of two student unions in Saxony-Anhalt , it is responsible for the northern part of the state and for the supervision of students from four universities .
history
The Studentenwerk Magdeburg was founded in November 1990 as a service network that assists students and employees of the city's universities with social, economic and cultural issues.
Through the establishment and mergers of other universities in northern Saxony-Anhalt is the student union in 2019 at four universities, the University of Magdeburg , the University of Magdeburg-Stendal , the university resin and Friedensau University , and eight campus resident. The main office is located on the UniCampus Magdeburg.
Infrastructure
In 2019, the Studentenwerk Magdeburg operates six canteens , six cafés and cafeterias and nineteen student dormitories with a capacity of 1650 places. There are social counseling services at three locations and two childcare facilities are operated. The Studentenwerk is (as of 2019) responsible for around 25,000 students.
