Sturmpercht is an Austrian neofolk music group. Its name goes back to the alpine legendary figure of the Percht , which appears during the Rauhnächten . The group also regards itself as the initiator of “Alpine Folk Music”.

history

The project was founded in 2002 by Max Presch, owner of the Steinklang Industries record label. The publication of the first Sturmpercht EP Der Tanz des Tatzelwurms in 2003 marked the beginning of the Steinklang sub-label Percht .
