Styrassic Park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Styrassic Park is an amusement park in Bad Gleichenberg, Styria . The Dinosaur Park includes more than 85 life-size replicas of dinosaurs. In 2006 around 75,000 visitors were counted.

Emergence

Eastern Styria belongs to a volcanic zone on the edge of the Alps, which is also rich in thermal springs and is a tourist destination as a volcanic region . The spa town of Bad Gleichenberg itself lies at the foot of extinct volcanoes. That is why it seemed an interesting offer to create a theme park on the prehistory of the room. The name "Styrassic Park" is made up of the Latin-English name of Styria , Styria , and the well-known Jurassic Park . The park was opened on March 27, 1999. Under the scientific direction of the Humboldt University in Berlin , over 30 artists worked over a period of around 21,400 hours for the first 60 dinosaur figures by 2015. By then, around 400 tons of concrete and 30 tons of steel had been used processed.

program

The park should convey the feeling of a journey through time and of living together with the dinosaurs. The visitors are brought closer to the classic "dinosaur times" chalk or Jurassic , but also the more recent "ice ages" of the Tertiary . In the foreground are those dinosaurs that lived near the Styrian volcanic region, such as the Struthiosaurus austriacus or the Ajkaceratops from Hungary .

There is also infrastructure such as a restaurant, a playground with a slide, a climbing park, a painting room in the cinema and a petting zoo.
