Sub Pop 200 is a compilation CD from the Seattle-based Sub Pop label . The CD features 20 different grunge and hard rock bands that later became very famous, such as Nirvana , Mudhoney and Soundgarden . Sub Pop 200 is the second CD with various artists that Sub Pop released ( Sub Pop 100 was released with 14 songs in 1986 ).

The cover was drawn by Charles Burns , who during this time created various designs for CDs and posters for Sub Pop.

Other information

  • Sub Pop 200 was only released as a record in 1988. Later copies were made on CD.
  • Producers for Sub Pop 200 were Jack Endino , Bruce Calder, Chris Hanzsek and Steve Fisk. Fisk also released an untitled song on the CD.
  • Most of the songs have only been released on Sub Pop 200 and therefore cannot be found on any other CDs (e.g. "Spank Thru" by Nirvana ), others like "The Rose" ( Superfuzz Bigmuff ) by Mudhoney were also on their own CDs released.
