Tad was a grunge - band that in 1988 in Seattle was founded.

Singer Tad Doyle was the inspiration for the band name. The band's sound surpassed that of other grunge bands like Pearl Jam , which is why Tad's commercial breakthrough was denied. Their first album called God's Balls from 1989 is still a good example of the early grunge sound ( Jack Endino produced) which, in the case of TAD, was even more inspired by metal than anything else.

After five studio and one live album, the band broke up in 1999 .

In 2001 Tad Doyle founded the successor formation Hog Molly , which further developed Tad's sound, but broke up after an album. Bassist Danielson, on the other hand, started the Valis project with members of Mudhoney and Screaming Trees .
