Screaming Trees was a foundation band founded in 1985 in Ellensburg , Washington . Although highly regarded by specialist journalists , the band has never been as successful commercially as other grunge bands, for example Nirvana or Soundgarden .
Band history
With the song Nearly Lost You from the 1992 album Sweet Oblivion , the band had their first moderate hit. Previously they had released an album called Uncle Anesthesia in 1991 with Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) as producer . The 1996 album Dust contained another hit single, All I Know . Nevertheless it was decided to let the band rest for the time being after the following tour. After Mark Lanegan in particular became more and more successful with his solo albums, the end of the Screaming Trees was officially announced following a concert on June 25, 2000.
