Brewhouse of the Berliner Kindl brewery
The brewhouse of the Berliner Kindl brewery is a monument in the Berlin district of Neukölln . It is currently used for cultural events.
Location and history
The area of the former Berliner Kindl brewery with the brewhouse is located at 50 Werbellinstrasse . It was built between 1926 and 1930. The design comes from the architects Hans Claus and Richard Schepke, the client was Berliner Kindl-Brauerei AG . After dismantling, the brewhouse was rebuilt by the Ziemann company until 1953 . It consists of two south streets with three vessels each. The calibration volume of the cooking pans is 705 hectoliters.
Todays use
The brewhouse has been used for cultural events since the site was closed in 2005. On the initiative of Armin Paul, an art fair takes place every year in the entire brewery. The private brewery Am Rollberg has been located under the old brewhouse since October 2009 .
In autumn 2011, the German-Swiss couple Burkhard Varnholt and Salome Grisard acquired the brewhouse and the other listed components and founded the Kindl Center for Contemporary Art .
