Sue Nye, Baroness Nye
Susan "Sue" Jane Nye, Baroness Nye (born May 17, 1955 in London ), is a British Labor Party politician who has been a Life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2010 .
Life
After attending the Westcliff High School for Girls, Sue Nye became a civil servant before she was later a member of the Labor Party headquarters. During the 1997 tenure of Prime Minister Tony Blair , she became the unpaid special adviser and political secretary to Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown . The work as closest collaborator for Brown continued after the latter became Prime Minister in May 2007 as successor to Blair himself. During Brown's subsequent reign until June 2010, she was the latter's director of government relations and diary writer. Later, however, she was unjustifiably held responsible by Brown for his behavior and behavior in the election campaign in the general election on May 6, 2010 , in particular in the conversation between Brown and the voter Lillian Duffy, which was recorded by the press.
Sue Nye was raised to the nobility by a letters patent dated July 19, 2010 as a Life Peeress with the title Baroness Nye , of Lambeth in the London Borough of Lambeth , at the suggestion of Brown . Shortly thereafter carried their introduction ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords .
Baroness Nye has been married to Gavyn Davies since 1989 , who was Chairman of the BBC Board of Governors between October 2001 and January 2004 .
