The Sula ( Russian Сула ) is a 221 km long right tributary of the Mesen in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in northwestern Russia .
The Sula rises on the western flank of the Timan ridge . It flows in a predominantly southwestern direction to the Mesen. It has a catchment area of 2210 km². During the snowmelt in May and June, the Sula drains a large part of the annual water volume. At the Nizhny Sulskoye gauge , 79 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 13.8 m³ / s.
