Suldalsvatnet (or Suldalsvatn ) is the name of a lake in the municipality of Suldal in the Norwegian province of Rogaland . The lake extends from Roalkvam in the northeast to Suldalsosen in the southwest. The Suldalsvatnet has always been a central traffic artery. In earlier times rowing boats were on the Suldalsvatnet until 1885 a steamship was used to transport people. In the 1930s, the Suldalsporten ferry was added on the Nesflaten - Solheimsvik route . In connection with the expansion of Ulla-Førreverkene (a group of hydropower plants) in the 1970s and 1980s, a road was built along the lake and ferry traffic was discontinued. The Suldalsvatnet is also known as a good fishing spot and every year there is the Storaure Festival in Nesflaten .
