Suman Sahai

Suman Sahai is an Indian activist and founder of the Gene Campaign.

career

Sahai received a Ph.D. from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in 1975. She then worked successively at the University of Alberta , the University of Chicago and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , where she received her habilitation in human genetics . According to the Web of Science , Sahai has published over 40 articles, cited over 150 times, mostly on political issues related to genetically modified organisms. It has an h-index of 7.

In April 2013 it was proven that Sahai had plagiarized in her habilitation thesis , which was presented to Heidelberg University in 1986. In addition, she had presented herself several times as a professor at this university without ever actually having held such a position.
