Sumiko Ishigaki (born February 5, 1985 ) is a Japanese cross-country skier .

Career

Ishigaki has mainly participated in the Far East Cup since 2005 . She has taken 21 podium positions so far, including two wins, and finished third in the overall standings in the 2007/08 , 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. Her best results at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Stryn were 35th place in the 15 km mass start race and ninth place in the relay. At the Winter Universiade 2005 in Seefeld in Tirol she finished 55th in the sprint, 37th place over 5 km freestyle and 28th place in the 15 km mass start race and at the Junior World Championships 2005 in Rovaniemi 59th place in Sprint, 33rd place in skiathlon and 25th place over 5 km freestyle. In the 2006/07 season she was 17th at the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato and 14th in the 5 km freestyle and 15 km freestyle and 32nd at the 2007 U23 World Championships in Tarvisio Place in the skiathlon and on the 26th place over 10 km freestyle. She completed her first World Cup race in December 2007 in Davos , which she finished in 11th place in the relay. In December 2016 she ran her first and only individual race in the World Cup in Falun , finishing in 75th place over 5 km classic and 64th place in the 10 km mass start race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol, she came 52nd in the skiathlon, 45th in the 30 km mass start race and 14th place with the relay.
