SunCoke Energy is an American coking company. The company was spun off from Sunoco in 2012 and has 5 coking plants with a capacity of 4.2 million t per year.
In 1969 the first coking plant was built in Jewell after the Virginia coal proved to be coking. In 2013 the company entered into a joint venture with Indian VISA Steel . The company operates a coking plant for ArcelorMittal in Vitória , Brazil. In 2015, SunCoke acquired the Convent Marine Terminal in Convent, Louisiana .
