Sun Wei (baseball player)

Sun Wei ( Chinese  孙 炜 , Pinyin Sūn Wěi ; born September 11, 1976 in Beijing ) is a Chinese baseball player .

The only 1.70 meters tall Sun Wei plays at the Beijing Tigers in the National League of China on the position of third base . From 2003 to 2005 he secured the title in the National League with his team, and in 1997 he was the winner of the National Games with his team . In 1994 he was appointed to the Beijing city selection and was a player in the national team from 1998. In April 2003, Sun was named Player of the Week after having five hits (one home run , four singles) and three RBI in eight at-bats against the Guangdong Cheetahs . In his traditional field position, Sun was a member of the Chinese team at the 2008 Olympic Games and finished eighth with his team. Sun graduated from college , plays bowling and is interested in cinema in his spare time .
