The Sundsvassheia ( Norwegian for Sundwasserhöhe ) is a mountain range on the Princess Astrid coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It forms the center of the Schirmacher Oasis .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it after the neighboring lake Sundsvatnet .
