Sung-Hee Kim-Wüst

Sung-Hee Kim-Wüst (* 1971 in Seoul , South Korea) is a Korean pianist .

Her musical talent was recognized very early on and even during her school days she won many prizes and awards at various national piano competitions. Her first teachers were Suk Kim and Kyu-Young Lee.

At the age of 17 she came to Germany after graduating from high school and studied piano at the Cologne University of Music , first with Günter Ludwig , then with Pi-Hsien Chen .

In 1995 she passed her artistic exam with the grade "with distinction" and was then in the master class of Pavel Gililov added.

She successfully completed her piano studies with the concert exam, also taken at the Cologne University of Music.

In addition to her studies, she completed master classes with Paul Badura-Skoda , Dmitri Baschkirow , Irina Lein-Edelstein , Peter Feuchtwanger, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling , Hans Leygraf , Sergei Maltsev, Vitali Margulis and Alexis Weissenberg .

In 1996 and 1997 she won a total of five international piano competitions in Switzerland, Spain and Italy. She won other prizes in Paris (Concours Nicolai Rubinstein) and in Rome (International Piano Competition for young pianist). In 1998, because of her well-known participation in the “11. International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition ”in Moscow numerous concerts. In 1999 she won first prize in the “16. Theodor Leschetizky Piano Competition ". Because of this award she gave concerts in New York's Carnegie Weill Hall .

As a soloist she performed a. a. with the Saint Petersburg Classica Orchestra and the Kiev Chamber Orchestra .

One CD of each of her piano recitals in the Beethoven House in Bonn and in New York's Carnegie Weill Hall was released. Together with her husband Hans Werner Wüst , she published the audio book CDs “ Frédéric Chopin - A Musical-Literary Portrait” and “ Robert Schumann - A Musical-Literary Portrait”.

Sung-Hee Kim-Wüst has been an official Steinway artist since 1997 . She gives concerts in Europe, Asia and the USA.
