Irina Lein-Edelstein

Irina Lein-Edelstein , also Irina Edelstein , (born December 16, 1943 in Moscow ; † June 7, 2018 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Russian-German pianist and piano teacher.

Live and act

Irina Edelstein was initially taught at the Gnessin Institute and from 1962 studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Jacob Milstein . She gave concerts during her studies and went on tours through the Soviet Union. After emigrating to Israel in 1975, she continued her career there, made several guest appearances in London and went on concert tours through Germany, where she settled. From there she gave concerts all over Europe, the USA and Korea.

In 1986 she founded the Concerto Grosso Frankfurt chamber orchestra , of which she was artistic director.

From 1987 to 2009 she taught as a professor at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt am Main . Her students include numerous prize winners from international competitions, well-known pianists and university lecturers.
