With the help of news films, photographs and the artistic work of the director Shui-Bo Wang, his life is told from childhood on. Under Mao's communist teachings, the boy grows up to be a young man who is interested in art, but at the same time serves as a soldier in the army. He is also confronted with the ideas and ideas of people who do not agree with the social system of China. A popular uprising breaks out, which is brutally suppressed on June 3rd and 4th, 1989 ( Tian'anmen massacre ).
