Production notes

Tale of Tales announced development of the game in March 2014. For Sunset ran a Kickstarter campaign, which began on 17 June 2014 and lasted one month. The goal was $ 25,000; the game totaled $ 67,636. The only “stretch goal” was to see more of the protagonist Angela Burnes, including reflections to give the player a clue of what she looks like. Another pillar of the pre-financing of the game was funds from the state-sponsored Flanders Audiovisual Fund.

When creating the character Angela Burnes, Tale of Tales was inspired by Angela Davis and Nina Simone . The voice actress Tina Marie Murray lends her voice to Angela. The soundtrack was composed by Austin Wintory, who wrote the soundtrack for the video game Journey , among other things . The game was translated into German by Marcel Weyers . As part of the production, Tale of Tales created a text adventure entitled A Day in San Bavón , which is located in the game world of Sunset and provides the player with background information on the setting. A Day in San Bavón was created with the Twine programming system and can be played in a browser.
