SuperLiga (North America) 2009
The SuperLiga 2009 , the third soccer competition of the SuperLiga , took place from June 20th to August 5th, 2009 . The Mexican Football Association changed the qualification rules of its clubs and stipulated that the best teams from the combined Aperatura and Clausura evaluation in 2008 would be entered for the competition if these teams were not qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League . The winners were the UANL Tigres .

The four best teams from the 2008 Regular Season who had not already qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League qualified from Major League Soccer :
- Chicago Fire (3rd place)
- New England Revolution (4th place)
- CD Chivas USA (5th place)
- Kansas City Wizards (6th Place)
The following four teams qualified from the Primera División de México :
- Club San Luis (1st place)
- Santos Laguna (5th place)
- UANL Tigres (7th place)
- CF Atlas (8th place)
