The Surat Developmental Road is a highway in Queensland , Australia conducted and will serve as national road 71st It has a length of 189 km and runs in a west-east direction from Surat on the Carnarvon Highway to the Moonie Highway west of Kumbarilla .

Surat - The Gums

The road branches off the Carnarvon Highway (A55) to the east in Surat. It leads through the town of Glenmorgan and the Erringibba National Park to the southeast . After 119 km it meets the Leichhardt Highway (A5) at The Gums .

The Gums - Kumbarilla

From The Gums , the Surat Developmental Road continues east to the small town of Tara . Here the Tara Kogan Road branches off to the northwest, while the Surat Developmental Road continues to the west at a reduced width. West of the settlement Kumbarilla it reaches the Moonie Highway (S49) after 70 km (from The Gums) and ends there.

The highest point on the highway is 391 m, the lowest is 244 m.
