The Surinaams Olympic Comité (SOC) is the umbrella organization of the sports associations in Suriname . The SOC was founded in 1959 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that same year . It also became a member of the Pan American Sports Organization in 1959 . Ramon Tjon-A-Fat has been the chairman of the SOC since 2017. It is based in Paramaribo on Rattan Oemrawsinghstraat, at the corner of Letitia Vriesdelaan.

In 1960, Siegfried Esajas was the first Surinamese athlete to travel to the Olympic Games in Rome for the SOC .

Anthony Nesty received the only Olympic medals for the SOC to date . Other well-known athletes who took part in the Olympic Games for the SOC were Letitia Vriesde and Roy Bottse .

Suriname's athletes were more successful at the Pan American Games, with a total of eleven medals won so far (February 2014).

Bureau

From February 20, 2014 to September 2017, the Presidium of the SOC, headed by Guno van der Jagt, consisted of the following people:
